Cool stuff. Smart people, in many different ways. This month\u2019s speaker talked about synthetic biology and designing organisms from scratch. I\u2019m next month\u2019s speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the other people there, I met <a href=\"http:\/\/virgil.gr\/\">Virgil<\/a>, the guy who made the <a>Wikipedia<\/a> de-referencer. He was mentioned on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CdtBGK-i8lw\">The Colbert Report<\/a> \u2026 from which I recognized him. Odd and interesting. I thanked him for sticking it to the man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, I went across the street with <a href=\"http:\/\/technolope.livejournal.com\/\">technolope<\/a> to another bar for another bit of socializing. Wound up staying and talking far too late about plans to find and mass-moon the google camera truck \u2026 and fantasizing about a mighty artistic commune in Detroit \u2026 in a 16,000 square foot mansion that\u2019s currently listed for sale at less than a million bucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My life is awesome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Went to a meeting of the greythumb group this evening.
